Open Call

Applications are now open for the SAG Artist Residency at Siddhartha Art Gallery, Kathmandu! Spend one month embedded in Nepal’s oldest and most storied gallery, housed within the historic Baber Mahal Revisited, a restored Rana-era palace at the center of the city. The residency offers structured access to Kathmandu’s artists, art historians, archivists, and living craft traditions, alongside field trips to sites of major cultural and art-historical significance. The month closes with a public presentation of work at SAG.

Artist Residency 2026

Kala South Asia and Siddhartha Arts Foundation are pleased to welcome Prageeth Manohansa (Sri Lanka, b. 1976) as the Abari Nepal Artist-in-Residence for the Kala South Asia × Siddhartha Arts Foundation Artist Residency 2026.

The residency will take place from 1 August to 1 October 2026 at Abari Nepal, Chitwan. During this two-month residency, the artist will engage in research, collaboration, workshops, and public engagement, fostering meaningful dialogue and creative exchange between artistic communities across South Asia.

Prageeth Manohansa’s participation reflects the residency’s commitment to supporting contemporary artistic practice, cross-cultural collaboration, and knowledge sharing through sustained engagement with local communities and creative practitioners.

Artist Residency 2026

Siddhartha Arts Foundation, in special partnership with Artudio, is pleased to announce the 2-Artist Joint Residency 2026, featuring artists Kripa Shakya and Smarika Maharjan.

The residency will take place from 5 August to August 30 2026 at Artudio’s Patan Wing, located in Nakabahil, next to Patan Gate (Patan Dhoka), Lalitpur, within the Patan World Heritage Site.

Over the course of the residency, the artists will be provided studio access and mentorship from Kailash Shrestha.

The residency is structured as a period of open-ended creative exploration, allowing each artist the space to develop their individual practice without a fixed directive or outcome.
